The Mobros
The Mobros make old ideas sound new. The rock duo out of Columbia, S.C., play music that's decidedly vintage, as if the band was plucked from a riverside juke joint. Kelly Morris, who plays guitar and sings with sweeping guttural gusts that can elicit shivers, is joined by his brother, Patrick, on drums. Whereas most bands would be satisfied with re-creating a sound and mood that invokes nostalgia, The Mobros have expanded on the soul and rock music they listened to in their youth. The brothers' songs contain deeply-rooted Southern underpinnings, a result of growing up in a house with a tin roof in historic Camden, S.C., a small town known for its antebellum mansions and horse races. Here's where you should know that Patrick is 19 and Kelly is 21, and they've already become a main stage draw. They've played the prestigious Carolina Downhome Blues Festival, Columbia's Blues Festival, the Carolina Homegrown Music Festival and the Free Times Music Crawl. About 40,000 revelers were at St. Pat's in Five Points when The Mobros played a headlining slot in 2012. With his guitar, Kelly, who is crafty and prolific, creates a labyrinthine of notes, sometimes playing dual guitar and bass parts. Patrick, who is sponsored by Anchor Drums, adds Caribbean percussive inflections. What is immediately gripping about the brotherly music is their flourishing harmonies, the melodic layers stacked seemingly effortlessly. The brothers are taking sabbaticals from college to pursue music, and they are currently recording their debut album. Bars and clubs have smoldered because of their sweltering sets, as the band melds Latin, blues, funk and soul, often in the same song, into a scintillating blend. The Fantastic Shakers
The third week of September, 1978, was marked the beginning of an era, the formation of THE FANTASTIC SHAKERS, known as the "South's Finest Show Band." Since the inception of the band, over 3,000 engagements have been played from Virginia to Florida and all throughout the Southeast. South Carolina's Grand Strand has become the band's summer home and their hit single "Myrtle Beach Days" catapulted The Shakers to the top of the Carolinas beach music groups.
Through these 11 years, there have been many memorable engagements, including WBT Radio's 50th Anniversary in front of 30,000 people with the Beach Boys. WBTV was proud to host Spring Fest with The Shakers three different years with over 70,000 people in attendance. Forty thousand fans have attended the Carolina Beach Blast in '87 and '89. The Shakers were host to the grand opening of the Men's Apparel Mart in Charlotte with Vice President George Bush as special guest. There have been many other special appearances such as the gubernatorial inauguration with SC Governor Carol Campbell. The list goes on and on...
The Shakers have won many awards through the various beach music awards associations through the years. This list includes '88 show group of the year, '85 floor show group of the year, and Bo Schronce was named male vocalist of the year in '85.
This Shakers' promotional package will not include an equipment list. We would like to let you know we carry state of the art E.A.W. P.A. that is powered by over 6,000 watts of QSC amplifiers. The lighting system features 16,000 watts of power controlled by NEL multiplex controllers. An ultraquartz spotlight is used to highlight the floor show.

Bo Schronce, without a doubt, is recognized as one of the finest singer-entertainers to ever hit the stage. Bo constantly works the crowd with his zany personality and powerful voice. With Bo's wide vocal range, he is capable of reproducing those hard to duplicate voices such as David Clayton Thomas, Michael McDonald, and Ray Charles among others.

For those in the know, “WatchOutDehNow” is more than a heed to action, it’s the trademark catcall for funnyman J. Anthony Brown.
As a forerunner to today’s hot Black comedy scene, and one of the foremost kings of that comedy, J. Anthony Brown is finally receiving the accolades he so justly j anthony browndeserves. A staple on the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show for over nine years now, he is one of the voices that wake up millions of radio listeners in over 195 markets.
J. Anthony Brown is a titanic comedic force! His sidesplitting antics and sensibilities have set a precedent that many now follow. Whether he is murdering the hits with his off key version of the latest song, or donning a pink pimp suit to evoke a laugh, Brown will get to your funny bone. His penchant for alligator shoes and rainbow colored suits convey his “party time” approach for fun.
BET recognized the power of his comedic drive and therefore had him host two consecutive seasons of their top rated network show, “Comic View”, Revamped as “Club Comic View.” As testimony to the comedian’s draw power, his season had some of the comedy world’s biggest names grace the stage.
But it was Brown’s role as Pop on the WB Network’s Like Family, starring Holly Robinson Pete, which initially garnered the funny man his widest mainstream audience … he was catapulted to the forefront of America’s viewing plate.
The South Carolina native began his career by chance in 1972 after relocating to Atlanta. He was originally pursuing a career as a clothing designer when $316 short of tuition money, he visited a local club and entered a gong show contest. The one time tailor was asked back to the venue, and later transformed it into a city hot spot as word of his natural wit traveled quickly.
Brown later left Atlanta for Hollywood, landing a job as head staff writer for the Arsenio Hall Show. An industry staple since, his impressive list of credits include hosting two consecutive seasons of Comic View, performances on Def Jam, It’s Showtime at the Apollo and Evening at the Improv. Writing credits include Tom Joyner TV Show, Steve Harvey’s Big Time, Me and The Boys, The Parent ‘Hood and the Arsenio Hall Show. Movie credits include Tripple X -State of the Union, Mr. 3000, Drumline & How to Be a Player. Television credits include Tom Joyner TV Show on ABC, Tom Joyner Sky Show on TV-One, Dlife-Diabetes Talk Show on CNBC, EVE, Steve Harvey’s Big Time, Like Family, The Parkers, Livin’ Single, The Parent ‘Hood, Martin, Moesha, The Hugley’s, Sparks, and even Oprah.
An innovative businessman as well as comedian, Brown has his own line of products that carry his name, including his own clothing line, “The J. Anthony Brown Collection,” gourmet and multimedia products. A creative artist and talented visionary, the comedian’s artwork has been featured along side Annie Lee in an art exhibit in Washington, DC in November 2005.

FINESSE in the Movies!!!
Finesse was recently chosen from hundreds of bands by the Director of the major motion picture, "NAILED", to be the band for the Wedding scene with Jessica Biel and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Directed by David O. Russell (Three Kings), this political satire/comedy will feature Tracy Morgan, Kristie Alley, James Brolin and Catherine Keener. The movie is based on the novel "Sammy's Hill" authored by Kristin Gore, daughter of Al Gore.
While it was a long day of shooting, Finesse had the entire cast and crew rocking to their music by the end of the day!

Chairmen of the Board
Musical trends come and go, but for more than fifty years, Beach Music has been as steady as the Atlantic Ocean's flow to its southeastern beachfronts - General Johnson My career has been a long exciting journey with all roads leading to the musical oasis called Beach Music. In the spring of 1966 in Raleigh, North Carolina, as lead singer of the Showmen, I performed before my first Beach Music audience. Thinking Beach Music was music by artist like The Beach Boys and Jan and Dean, we nervously performed a variety of rhythm and blues classics. Surprisingly, each song was met with the audience's approval. As we ended the show with our regional hit "39-21-46" and our nationally charted hit song, "It Will Stand," the audience responded by applauding us back for an encore. Because we didn't know any other songs to perform, we sang two more verses of
"It Will Stand" and spontaneously, began to adlib the chorus of Bruce Channel's song "Hey Baby." As we sang "Hey Baby," we waved our hands in the air and to our surprise, everyone in the audience responded by doing the same. When we concluded the show with a bow, the audience showed their appreciation by rewarding us with another thunderous round of applause. That spring night, I understood, appreciated and became a part of the Beach Music phenomenon.
In 1968, 1 moved to Detroit, Michigan to further my career with Invictus Records. As a member of The Chairmen of the Board, I experienced and enjoyed international success as a songwriter and an artist. My success in such a short period of time magnified the business dealings with my recording and management companies. Soon, business disagreements deteriorated our musical relationship and eventually terminated our successful venture. In 1974, 1 left Invictus.
In 1978, 1 returned to the Carolina's with The Chairmen of the Board. For the first time in eight years, I enjoyed performing music without the depression of the music business. I found an independent music industry that was still free of monopoly, politics and categorization. I felt the energy of an industry propelled by its loyal supporters. In 1979, 1, along with the late Mike Branch, formed Surfside Records. Our objective was to record new music to revitalize the identity of a thriving music market that was slowly being recognized as and too dependent on old recordings.
In 1981, two years after forming Surfside Records, I was contacted by Motown Records, leading to discussions with then CEO Mr. Berry Gordy Jr. The meetings at his home in California were personable and candid. His offer could have proven to be financially lucrative for me but would have meant moving to California and abandoning Surfside Records and the musical utopia that I had found to be a safe haven. I respectfully declined Motown offer and for years, I wondered if I had made the right decision.
Nineteen years later, I have absolutely no regrets. Those years have been filled with excitement and personal fulfillment that exceeds any monetary gains that I could have attained. I'd like to sincerely thank all Beach Music lovers and supporters for affording me the opportunity to create and perform, without compromise, the music that we treasure. I am humbly appreciative and honored to be a part of the Carolina Beach Music phenomenon.

Men of Distinction
